Fly swatters are gross, frustrating to use, not all that effective and leave a “schmere” of bug juice on whatever the fly was on. Fly paper thingies are effective but even more gross.
What if you could have fun, not make a mess, amuse people and season your food while taking out flies?
The Bug-a-Salt gun is a shotgun that shoots a tiny, high velocity blast of salt grains instead of lead pellets. A salt gun is powerful enough to kill bugs but harmless to human skin and if you miss….oh well. Fly is on food? Seasoned!
Ours hangs behind the door at the cottage on a nail. A tablespoon of salt in the storage chamber lasts about a season. When you hit a fly, its blown away like a scene from a zombie movie AND dead. Very satisfying. Guests immediately go on their own hunting expeditions while they figure out the right distance and how to aim.
Not only effective, but these are very well built, well engineered and very solid. A toy but not a toy.
About $60 CDN on Amazon, you can also buy direct. Get the 3.0 version over the 2.5….more power and rapid fire capable. You can even add a laser sight, but that feels like cheating.
